Amy Evelyn Evalena McKinzie, 89, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, April 1, 2022 at MHP Medical Center.
Born June 18, 1932 in Grassy Creek, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Robert Lee Price and Myrtle Lou(Meek)Price. She married William "Bill" McKinzie on January 15, 1949, and he preceded her on October 1, 2015.
Survivors include 5 children, Kenneth McKinzie of Indianapolis, Charles(Maria)McKinzie of California, Kelvin Lynn McKinzie of Shelbyville, Paula(Rick)Watkins of Kentucky, Darrin Christopher(Sandy)McKinzie of Shelbyville; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, a daughter, Peggy Whitt, 2 infant sons, 5 brothers, 9 sisters, and several grandchildren.
Mrs. McKinzie had lived in this area since the late 1950's, after moving from Ohio. She attended school in Kentucky, and was a hone maker.
Throughout her lifetime, Amy enjoyed visiting her family, reading her Bible, sharing stories, cooking, gardening, flowers, and traveling, especially to Kentucky and Tennessee. She loved the Mountains, in all their beauty, reading to children and watching old movies, singing and being sung to.
Funeral services will be 12:00 noon on Friday, April 8, 2022 at Glenn E, George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor Beth Crouch officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, at the funeral home.
