When our parents sold their home in Springfield, they bought a new 40 foot x 8 foot (single wide) Spartan Trailer and a new International Pickup and moved back to the farm for a time before moving on to Texas in the summer of 1955. We moved first to Big Spring for a few weeks where our dad connected with Thomas and Alma Reed (Reed Oil Company, Inc., formerly of Springfield, Missouri), then moved west to Odessa for a short time, then west again to Pecos where dad managed a Reed Oil Gas Station, and lastly back east to Midland where dad worked for the Bush Drilling Company (later U.S. President George Herbert Walker Bush). In the fall of 1956, our family moved on to Livermore, in Alameda County, California where our younger sister Joyce and youngest brother James were born, both at the old St. Paul's Hospital.
Paul enlisted in the Navy when he turned eighteen and served aboard the USS Kearsarge as a sonarman in the South Pacific and in the Gulf of Tonkin off the coast of North Vietnam. (I know of only one picture of Paul during his training in the Navy).
Paul was married to his High School sweetheart Linda Lee Turner on 13 January 1967 in Reno, Washoe County, Nevada. Paul and Linda were blessed with two loving and wonderful children; a son Trenton Averill (20 Feb 1971 - 22 Dec 2021) and a daughter Casey Dorlynn (DePreste) Williams.
When the school year ended in June of 1969, our parents and the three younger siblings moved back to the family farm near Miller in Lawrence County, Missouri. By that time, Paul and Linda were married, and he, Morris and I were working and living on our own in the East Bay Area.
When I was married the next year, Paul and Linda were Best Man and Matron of Honor, and Morris stood in for dad to give my hand in marriage. One of the best and sweetest memories from my wedding day was of wearing Linda's lovely wedding dress she so generously lent to me.

Paul Trenton Depreste Jr. was called home by Jesus on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. He was a Vietnam Vet who loved old cars, camping, fishing and hunting. Paul was a man of few words with a big heart. He will be forever missed by his wife Linda of 55 years, family and friends.
