She was born in Ozark, Arkansas on July 13, 1926.
She was preceded in death by her husband (Odell Jackson), her mother (Letha Alston), three sisters (Loretta Brazel, Margaret Alston and Dorothy Alston), one great grandson (Jermaine Simpson) and one niece (Sarah Green).
She is survived by five sons, Robert Alston (Netta), Charles Alston (Nacola), Edward Jackson, Herbert Alston (Kim), Michael Alston (Maelean), two daughters Laura Battiste (Anthony) and Sarah Pate (Eddie Sr) of Indianapolis, Indiana, 28 grandkids, 43 great grandkids, 31 great great grandkids.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, April 8, 2022 at Lewis Funeral Chapel 4817 Kelley Hwy in Fort Smith with interment to follow at Highland Cemetery in Ozark. The family will meet with friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, April 7, 2022 at the funeral home.
