As a flag officer on the steamer "Muguchiy" was guarded from the enemy of the Sea of Azov and participated in the battle with enemy ships near Enikale, when then moving to Berdyansk, the steamer was burned, and the team went to Taganrog to guard the harbor and prevent the landing of enemy troops (1855). He served on the shore in Nikolaev (1855-1858). Promoted to captain of the 2nd rank and dismissed from service (1860).
