JOHANNES SCHLEY
(1859 - 1917)

John Schley, Sr., who has been afflicted for some time and was reported improved, took a sudden change for the worse and passed away. His death was due to heart trouble.

The deceased was born in this country 57 years ago and was one of the early farmers of this vicinity. He conducted a farm here up to about four years ago when he disposed of it to his son, Louis, and with his wife led a retired life up to his death. Mr. Schley was well and favorably known and all his friends were sorry to hear of his expected, but sudden death.

The deceased is survived by his wife, several sons and daughters and also two brothers.

The funeral was held from the late home Friday, Jan. 26 at 1pm and interment was at the German Lutheran cemetery near Maribel.

Our sympathy is extended to the afflicted family in their sad bereavement.
