Brooksy Behrens, 91, of Eldon, Mo., died Jan. 4, 2008, at Heisinger Bluffs in Jefferson City, Mo.

She was married for 70 years to Raymond Behrens, who survivies at Heisinger Bluffs. They were business partners in petroleum distribution, manufactured home sales, and land development in Eldon.

She and her husband were founding members of three area churches - Bethany Lutheran of Eldon, Hope Lutheran Chapel of Osage Beach and Glaize Drive-in worship services, (now Hope Chapel Drive-in services). She sang in many church choirs and played piano at special occasions.


She served on the Saline Township Republican Committee for 18 years and also originated the Bagnell reunion.

Also surviving are a daughter, Gloria Behrens Irwin and husband, Jim Irwin, of Irvine, Calif.; a grandddaughter, Anne Irwin Sinek and husband Jeffrey Sinek, of Fullerton, Calif.; a grandson, James Behrens Irwin and wife, Kathryn Hasty Irwin, of Van Nuys, Calif.; and three great-grandchildren, Veronica Irwin and Brooke and Alec Sinek.

Visitation will be held from noon-1 p.m., Jan. 11, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Eldon, followed by services at 1 p.m. The Rev. Peter Lange will officiate.



Burial will be in Greenmore Memorial Gardens in Barnett, Mo., under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon.
