Mrs. Vandergriff – Final Services Slated Saturday
Funeral services for Mrs. J.T. Vandergriff, 72, of Carrollton, were to be held at 8 p.m. Saturday in the Carrollton Christian Church, of which she was an active member, with Rev. Jack Stewart officiating.
Mrs. Vandergriff, a resident of Dallas County for 55 years and the wife of J.T. Vandergriff, founder of automobile agencies at Carrollton and Irving, was to be buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
She died Friday in a Dallas clinic.
A grandson, Tommy Vandergriff, is the mayor of Arlington and a son, Hooker, is the owner of the Vandergriff auto agency there.
Other survivors, besides her husband, are two other sons, Jack and Gordon, of Dallas and Irving, respectively; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy O'Dell of Dallas and Mrs. Bobbie Collins of Fort Worth; a brother, J.H. Hudgins of Addison; a sister, Mrs. Callie Hastings of Amarillo; five grandchildren in addition to Tommy and one great-grandchild.
Arrangements are being handled by Rhoton Funeral Home, Carrollton.
