BERNHARD PAUTZ
(1868 - 1947)

Bernard Pautz, 78, retired Cooperstown farmer, who had been living in Maribel, died Sunday in a Green Bay hospital following a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Pautz home in Maribel and at 2 o'clock at the St. John's Lutheran church in the village, the Rev. Paul Gieschen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Pautz was born in Gibson and in 1892 married Miss Alvina Kohn. They located for a time in Kewaunee county and 49 years ago returned to Cooperstown to establish a farm. He retired in 1922 when his son Walter took over the farm and moved into Maribel. Mrs. Pautz died in 1940.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Gustave Pantzlaff and Mrs. Louis Jaeger of Maribel, and Mrs. Elmer Lorenz of Morrison, Brown county; a son, Walter, on the home farm; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

The body may be viewed at the Pautz home where it was moved this afternoon from the Schwartz funeral home in Morrison.
