BUELL FRANK 'BUD' BERLIN

MONROE CITY--Buell Frank "Bud" Berlin, 85, of Monroe City, passed away at 5:55 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2007, at Monroe City Manor Care Center.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 15, at Monroe City Christian Church. The Rev. Steve Goughnour will officiate. Burial will be at Andrew Chapel Cemetery in Marion County,

Friends may call from 5 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at Garner Funeral Home & Chapel in Monroe City.

Mr. Berlin was born June 23, 1921, in Belgrade, Nebraska, the son of Edward A. and Shirley Mae King Berlin.

He was married to Laura Etta Childers on March 20, 1948, in Shelbina. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, James D. Berlin and wife, Susette, of Irmo, S.C., and Frank Berlin and wife, Kathy, of Bowling Green; one daughter, Donna Long and husband, Dennis, of Monroe City; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Gay of Monroe City; and one sister-in-law, Gladys Berlin of Monroe City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Laura Ruth Berlin; one brother, Clyde Berlin; and two sisters, Lanona Lilly and Frances Long.

Mr. Berlin attended Buckman School, was a member of the Monroe City Christian Church and VFW of Monroe City. He was a retired employee of the Missouri State Highway Department, where he worked for 26 years. He also was a grain and livestock farmer in Marion County. He enjoyed gardening in his spare time.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served During World War II.

Memorials are suggested to the Monroe City Christian Church.
Pallbearers will be Gene Powell, William "Butch" Powell, Don Perrine, Brian Long, Donald Mudd and Bill Caldwell.
