Stella Cranshaw was a British psychic medium discovered and tested by famous paranormal investigator Harry Price. Price set up his own organization devoted to psychic research, The National Laboratory of Psychical Research (NLPR), and he was a member of the Society for Psychic Research (SPR). The first case to be investigated by the NLPR was with Stella Cranshaw. Stella (usually called Stella C. by Price), proved to be an exceptionally gifted medium and psychic. One of the most remarkable phenomena was her ability to produce sparks on request in any part of the room. This earned her the nickname of "Electric Girl." The various seances and psychic demonstrations were taking a heavy toll on Stella, and she eventually ended her relationship with Price.

She was born, Dorothy Stella Cranshaw in 1900, in England, United Kingdom. Her father, James Henry Cranshaw, was 33 and her mother, Elizabeth Best, was 34. Stella had at least one son. She lived in Woolwich, Greenwich, London, England, United Kingdom in 1901 and Accrington, Lancashire, England, United Kingdom in 1911. She died in 1992, at the age of 92.
