MAROA - Cornie R. Braden, 89, died at 9:26 p.m. Tuesday at Decatur-Macon County Hospital, after an illness of four days.
His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Ruble Funeral Home, Maroa with the Rev. William Butler officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Braden was born July 20, 1878 at Maroa, a son of Samuel and Anna Armstrong Braden. He married Lida Delaney Jan. 10, 1900 in Decatur. She died Oct. 24, 1963.
Surviving are two sons, Harold, Park Forest; Raymond, Moscow, Ida.; a brother, Walter, and a sister Miss Myrtle, both of Maroa; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was the oldest member of the Maroa Methodist Church and just retired from farming a year ago.
