Kenneth Durward Gibson, 78, of Manahawkin, formerly of Montclair, NJ, died on Saturday, February 20, 2016. He was born in Newark, NJ and lived the majority of his life in Upper Montclair. He was a teacher and coach at the Montclair Kimberley Academy from 1966-2002 and an active member of the Montclair Heights Reformed Church. After retirement he moved to Manahawkin, NJ. He became an active member of the Ocean Community Church and the Old Guard of Forked River.
Beloved husband of the late Nancy (nee King) Gibson. Devoted father of Elizabeth Boyer of Gaithersburg, MD and Heather Gibson of Philadelphia, PA. Dear brother of James M. Gibson of Kennett Square, PA. Loving grandfather of Rebecca Boyer and Alex Basil-Gibson.
A celebration of his life was held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 11 AM in the Ocean Community Church, 1492 Route 72 West, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. The family received guests in the church fellowship room from 9-11 AM. In lieu fo flowers, donations can be made to the Ocean Community Church Food Pantry.
Arrangements were held by O'Boyle Funeral Home, 309 Broad Street, Bloomfield, NJ 07003.
