My 4th great grandfather, and Revolutionary War patriot.
First wife was Jane.

**Father was NOT Thomas Edwards born 1700 in Pennsylvania!!** I have seen zero proof his father was a Thomas Edwards. There was another Edwards family from Wales who did have the Thomas Edwards folks claim but not this man.

also
This Thomas Edwards parents were NOT Thomas Edwards and Anna Hewson. !!

** His second wife, Susanna Zimmerman Reichard Edwards. is NOT the mother of his child/children.

Records show he was Presbyterian from Ireland.

Thomas Edwards is listed as being buried in the Moravian Church yard in Lancaster City Pennsylvania and later being moved to Greenwood Cemetery also in Lancaster city. (It is said that all buried at Moravian Church were re-interred at Greenwood).
Thomas Edwards born 1735 in Ireland, County Antrim, died 7 Feb 1794 in Lancaster, PA. He came to this country in 1763/1764 with a young man named Robert Coleman. He worked a few forges and was Iron Master at Cornwall Furnace for a while/per Cornwall Furnace.
He "served as colonel in the Revolutionary war.
After the war, he became sheriff of Lancaster County, and died in Lancaster City."(Milton Shirk)

Father of at least one, John Edwards who is buried in Marietta Union Meetinghouse Cemetery in PA.
Thomas Edwards was a member of the Presbytery. This is stated on more than one record.
His first wife, and mother of his children, was Jane Clemmans, married in 1768 in Philadelphia County.
The pastor that married him was Episcopalian. Ancestry.com transcriber and the original records at Pennsylvania Historical in Philadelphia are very different.
