Mr. DeJarnett, a native of Old Cypress, Ky., was a retired foreman from Valley Steel Co. He attended First Southern Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the Conservation Corps. He was a member of Cairo Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2649.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen M. DeJarnett; and several nieces and nephews. His parents were James and Anna Ward DeJarnett.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo. The Rev. Verlee Eaker will officiate, with burial in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge.
