Jesse L. "Jess" Abney, 87, Willard, MO, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022. He was born July 19, 1934, in Springfield to Charles and Irma Abney.
Jess was a lifelong resident of Greene County. He served proudly as a Sgt. Major with the US Marines and retired after 37 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Abney; a daughter, Mitzi Abney; two sisters; and one brother.
He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Melody and Ron Huffman; a brother, William "Bill" Abney; grandson Briton Freitas; and great granddaughter, Brianna Freitas.
