William "Billy" Baumgartner, 54, of Grand Forks, ND passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018 at home after a courageous battle with cancer. He entered into paradise with his wife and two sisters by his side, praying with him and for him.
William Jacob Baumgartner was born May 26, 1963 in Grand Forks, ND the only son of Robert and Marie (Enlow) Baumgartner. He was raised in Arvilla, ND and attended Larimore High school. He was a competitive skier, tennis player and golfer. He was also an avid hunter. When not working or competing, Bill enjoyed riding his horse alongside his wife, Tami.
William married Tami Jo Sandbeck on June 19, 1992 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in East Grand Forks, MN. He was employed as the Property Manager with Valley Sunrise Properties in Grand Forks. Bill's final gift to his family was his display of emotional and spiritual courage, his abundant grace and love for his family, friends and caregivers as he struggled with the pain and frustration of being terminally ill. He left behind as his legacy and example his spiritual strength and fortitude.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Tami; his daughters, Jessica Baumgartner and Desarie Baumgartner; grandchildren, Kalyb, age 9, Avaleya, age 9 and Knoxx, age 8 and his sisters, Peri (Scott) Olson and Bobbi (Dennis) Curtis.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial Mass: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in East Grand Forks, MN.
Family Greeting: One hour prior to the liturgy in the church on Tuesday.
