Winnifred is the daughter of Albert Gooding (1886 England-1913 Michigan) and Alice W. Ramsbottom (1883 England-1947 Michigan). Winnie lost her father at a young age and was then "parceled" out to live with an aunt and uncle Robert and Marie Brunger. She married Edgar Allen Poe Miller, Sr., April 24, 1926 in Jackson, Michigan. Their first three children were born in the Flint, Michigan area, but in the mid 1930's they moved with their family to the Van Buren County, Michigan area. Ed and Winnie settled finally into their home at 3 Hilliard St, Hartford, Van Buren, Mi., in March of 1943 and lived there until their retirement in 1975 when they moved to Florida. Winnie was a very hard working woman. Not only did she raise nine children, but she worked outside the home as well. She was never still, even when she was relaxing she had knitting needles in her hands, she could make those needles fly. In Florida she rode a tri-wheeled bike around the retirement park they lived in. She probably rode that bike a million miles or more. Ed and Winnie's children are: Edgar A. Jr., 1927-1984; William John 1929-1990; Ruth Marion (Hedlund) 1932; Glynn Lavern 1935-1993; Leland Howard 1938-1998; Henry Albert 1940-1997; Raymond George 1943; Thomas Carl 1945-1974; Dorothy Marie (Flores) 1950-1986.
