Annie Ruth Nolan Blue passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022, at McLeod Hospice in Florence. She was 82 years old.

Born September 15, 1939, in Blenheim, SC, Ruth was a daughter of the late Leon Thomas and Annie Lou Gray Nolan. She retired as a cafeteria supervisor for Marlboro Park Hospital and a member of Salem Baptist Church. Ruth enjoyed being a caregiver, gardening, fishing, reading books, word finds and traveling, especially with Mr. Brantley Parrish.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, W.L. Nolan, Glen Nolan and infant brother, James Rufus Nolan; sisters, Maureen Nolan Whitley; grandsons, Thomas Madison Edwards and Eric Blue; special friends, Brantley Parrish and Bob Prigg.

She is survived by sons, Mitchel Blue (Donna) of Gibson, NC, and Tim Blue (Trish) of Florence, SC; daughter, Lynda Blue Edwards (Van) of Bennettsville, SC; sister, Jean Nolan Capps of Hamlet, NC; grandchildren, Trey Edwards (Kelly) and Timothy Blue; granddaughter-in-law, Samantha Blue; great grandchildren, Rylan Blue, Jaxon Blue, JoJo Blue and Savannah Edwards.

A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Salem Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. just prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.
