Actress, star of the silent film era. Born Ruby Burkhardt in Denver, Colorado, she was married to coal baron Benjamin Throop. A talented Broadway stage actress and former Ziegfeld Follies girl, she is probably best remembered for her role as Mrs. Bellamy in the 1936 film, "The Georgeous Hussy." Noted for her beauty, De Remer also appeared in the films, "Enlighten Thy Daughter" (1917), "Tillie Wakes Up" (1917), "Two Men And A Woman" (1917), "The Auction Block" (1917), 'Ashes Of Love" (1918), "Life's Greatest Problem" (1918), 'For Freedom" (1918), "Dust Of Desire" (1919), "His Temporary Wife" (1920), "Luxury" (1921), "The Passionate Pilgrim" (1921), "Unconquered Woman" (1922), "The Glimpses Of The Moon" (1923), and "Don't Marry For Money" (1923). After the death of her husband in 1935, Miss De Remer lived out her final days at her Hollywood Hills home 'Sunkist', dying at the age of 92 in 1984.
