Our beloved Naomi went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 30, 2021 following a brief illness.

Born on February 10, 1956 in Charleston, West Virginia, a preemie struggling for life, she was the youngest child of Rev. Homer and Ruth Hizer.

Growing up in the family life of a minster, Naomi lived in many places over her lifetime. She graduated from Mt. Hope High School, then worked for several years while caring for her parents before marrying Roy Smith, Jr. who preceded her in death on June 10, 2001.

Other than her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister Clara Eads; brother Wayne Hizer; and her step-father Charlie Sinozich.

Naomi is survived by her remaining brother David Hizer and wife Ruscee Ann; brother-in-law Clifford Eads Jr.; sister-in-law Evelyn Hizer; niece Anna Marie Ward and her husband Lee and their children William and Adaline of Cross Lanes, WV; niece Shana Leigh Allen and husband BJ and children Beth, Joseph, Jacob, Brianna; and much loved cousins, the Belchers of Charmco.

Naomi was a wonderful friend to many people, among them her church family at Calloway Heights Baptist Church where she served faithfully and with a great love of the Lord. Most important to Naomi was finding every opportunity to talk to new acquaintances about the Lord. She will be sorely missed by her best friend, Judi Purdy.

Honoring Naomi's wishes, she will be cremated and her ashes interred with her husband Roy in Arlington National Cemetery. There will be no services .
