James Victor Sweeney Sr peacefully passed away on May 3, 2022, with loving family members by his side.

James was born on June 3, 1939, in Osceola, MO to Lawrence and Mildred Sweeney. He and his brother, Lawrence Jr grew up on a farm in Osceola and shared many adventures together.

In 1957, he joined the United States Army and served his country with pride until 1960. After completing his service, he moved to Dubuque, Iowa. During this time he had multiple careers including law enforcement, truck driving and security until his retirement. In 2008 he moved back home to the Ozarks, and lived his remaining years in Kimberling City and Reeds Spring with his son.

James loved hunting with his sons, sons-in-law and friends. He also loved boating and fishing with his family. He loved telling stories of his life adventures.

James was preceded in death by his mother, father and a great grandson.

Graveside Service were held Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery Springfield, MO.
