Larry Liddell, 79, a retired New Orleans Saints Public Relations Director and Senior Staff Writer at Clarksdale Press Register, passed away January 21, 2022, in Charlotte, North Carolina. A memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS with burial in the Oakridge Cemetery. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS is handling the arrangements.
Survivors include daughter Stephanie Rae Saint Jean; grandchildren Hayden Elizabeth Weems, Phoebe Lorraine Grass, Ella Claire Saint Jean, Isabella Rai Saint Jean, Adam William Grass, Carl Glenn Grass, III; great-grandchildren Amelie Wagar, Braxton Wager, Carson Wagar, Sawyer Wagar, Sutton Wagar, Hollis Weems, Juliette Grass.
Preceded in death by his wife Martha Rae Liddell; parents William and Vina Bell Patman Liddell.
He was an avid sportswriter. He had many contributions including an award into the Sports Hall of Fame, President of County Information Officers Association, Louisiana Fairs and Festivals Board, sports announcer at sporting events, helped design press box and terrace at the Super Dome, member of Easter Seals, Lions Club, Kiwanis, and American Legion.
