Dayton, O. - Samuel Irvine (colored), aged 104, a veteran of the civil war, died Monday at his home in Middletown. He was an ex-slave, unusually well educated and for the last 25 years had been totally blind. Several years ago he made addresses to people of his race in different cities on economic questions.
