GORHAM - Our beloved and very beautiful, Joan Marie Angell Robson, age 63, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday (May 9, 2022).
Joan was a very caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend to so many. Her loving heart left a beacon of light for all that knew her. Joan was a compassionate spirit whose passion was caring for others.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday (May 16) at Kenneth J. Perkins Funeral Home, 2583 E. Main St., Gorham N.Y.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday (May 17) at the Seneca #9 Presbyterian Church, 4362 Number Nine Road, Stanley, followed by a celebration of life at Gorham Firehouse, 4676 Kearney Road, Gorham.
Memorial contributions may be made to Golisano Children's Hospital Music Therapy Program, 300 E. River Road, P.O. Box 278996, Rochester, NY 14627; or Little Church Cemetery, 4616 Route 245, Stanley, NY 14561.
She was born to Wendell and Pearl Angell, October 10, 1958. She was raised in Gorham, N.Y., and loved her hometown so much that she stayed in it for her entire life. Joan graduated from Marcus Whitman High School in 1976, and received an A.A. degree from FLCC. After her education, she decided to settle down with her high school sweetheart, Mark Robson.
Joan had various careers throughout her life, but she was most passionate about giving back to others. She was passionate about her own recovery and devoted her career to helping others. She showed this devotion through her work at FLACRA for 20 years and moved on to the Council on Alcoholism in the Finger Lakes, where she made such a huge impact on many recovery programs.
Joan was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nana and spoiled them as much as she possibly could. Most of all Joan loved her family and instilled in them strong values of faith, hope and love. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. She had an angelic personality and always made people around her smile no matter what they may have been going through. She made friends everywhere she went, and would always go out of her way to help someone in need. Everyone who Joan met became an instant friend to her. She could stand in line talking to a Wal-Mart cashier for 10 minutes, while entertaining the other shoppers she was holding up. Her sense of humor and witty personality made her the life of any party and her smile could light up a room instantly. She had a love for life and her family was the most important thing to her. As Joan deeply believed in an afterlife, going forward she would want you to smile at the sight of a nearby butterfly or cardinal, and know that this will be her way of saying hello.
Joan will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 42 years, Mark Robson; children, Sarah Robson (Jeffrey Allen) of Hall, N.Y. and Matthew Robson (Paige) of Seneca Castle; grandchildren, Noah, Layla, Wyatt and Brooks; bonus grandchildren, Burlin and Kendra; mother-in-law, Janet Robson; and numerous other family members and friends.

Joan was predeceased by her parents, Wendell and Pearl; father-in-law, Robert Robson; siblings, Irene Angell-Cimineri and Ron Angell; and nephew, David Angell.
