Funeral services for Mrs. Laura J. Bechtel, who died Sunday, June 21, were held at the Akinsville Baptist church Tuesday afternoon, June 23, at 2:30 o'clock. The body was taken to Glensted accompanied by relatives and many friends for burial.
Mrs. Bechtel was born in Morgan county, where she spent her entire life. Her husband, Charles S. Bechtel, died thirty-one years ago.
Surviving are ten children, Mrs. W. B. Graham, Tipton; Mrs. Frank Stegner, Pilot Grove; Charles Bechtel, Houstonia; Mrs. O. A. Lenington, Sedalia; Mrs. O. Z. Petree, Syracuse; Cora and Lem Bechtel, of the home; Maurice Bechtel, Boonville; Mrs. Pat Brummet, Illinois; Mrs. Robert Richards, Sante Fe, Cal. There are also twenty-six grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
