One of seven members of Bathurst High School Phantoms senior varsity basketball team killed when their van collided with a tractor-trailer in icy driving conditions. A teacher, Beth Lord, wife of the coach/driver also died. Four other passengers survived and were transported to hospital for treatment.
Nathan, age 17, was a Grade 12 student at BHS and wore No. 7 on the boys' basketball team. He also played soccer, competed in long jump and was a big fan of the Montreal Canadiens. He planned to be a firefighter and is remembered as the strong, slient type. Nathan is survived by his parents, sister and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held at the KC Irving Civic Centre in Bathurst, New Brunswick on January 16, 2008.
