Hickory – Alma Bertie Young Abee, 100 of Hickory, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 16, 2022 at her residence. Born on April 27, 1922, in Burke County, NC, Alma was the daughter of the late David Alexander and Virgie Lee Rhoney Young. She lived her life loving her Lord and her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Wade Pinkney Abee and son Knolan Pinkney Abee. She is survived by a daughter; a son; a sister and a brother. Alma is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 10:00 am with Pastor Jeff Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9 am to 10:00.
