Janet Marie Lechner Aarrestad
1950 - 2022

Janet M. Aarrestad passed away peacefully on May 12, 2022, in her home. She was surrounded by her loved ones. They all tell a beautiful story of her smiling after taking her last breath. It was as if she was so happy to reunite with the love of her life, her husband, Butch Aarrestad. This smile was also a sign that she was relieved of all the pain she endured over these last couple months.

Janet was born on April 2, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri. During her childhood, she and her family moved to California. This is where she met the love of her life and married him. Shortly after vowing their love for each other, they moved to Victor, Montana, and decided this is where they were going to raise their kids. She spent the remainder of her life there.

She established her roots in Victor by taking up a new occupation. She wanted to be a barber, so she attended cosmetology school in Missoula. She opened a shop on Main Street in Victor called Family Styles Barber Shop. She loved cutting hair and took great pride in making customers happy with their new hairstyle. Not only this, but she loved developing new friendships with the people in town. By the time she retired, it seemed that she knew everyone in town.

She loved her time here in Montana. When she wasn't doing hair, she was focusing on making her property beautiful by constantly planting new trees and flowers. She had multiple hobbies that kept her busy. She loved gardening, making wine, hunting her big moose, water skiing, and enjoying time with family.

Janet is survived by her three kids, Lisa M. Aarrestad, Sheri M. Burnham, and Butchie E. Aarrestad. She will be dearly missed by all her family.

Her family will be holding a wake at 2111 Middle Bear Creek Rd. Victor MT on May 23, 2022, at 2:00 PM.
