Tulsa - Charles Vern Brown, formerly of Mt Vernon, went home to be with the Lord at 2:15 pm on Monday, January 14, 2007 at Saint Francis Hospital following a short illness.

Vern was born on March 24, 1924 to Charles Eugene and Ruth (Hunt) Brown in Mt Vernon.
He graduated from Mt Vernon High School and served in the United States Army . He worked at the Carnation Milk plant before moving to Tulsa in 1951 where he worked for Tulsa Paper Company until retirement.


He is survived by his loving wife, Frances Breashears(Block) whom he married on March 28, 1997, step-son, Greg Breshears and wife Karen and step-grandson Josh Breshears, Springfield, niece Gayle (Brown) Cameron and family, Mt Vernon.

He was prededed in death by his first wife, Dorothy Davis Brown, his parents, brothers Harry and Willard Brown, sister Janice Brown and nephew Gerye Allen Brown all of Mt Vernon.

A memorial service was held on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Riverside Baptist Church, with Pastor Jonathan Reichman presiding.
The body was cremated.
