He is survived by his wife, Shirley L. Bishop; son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Cathy Bishop;
11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; aunt, Erma Harned; brother, Robert and Lela Bishop; sisters, Joyce Tatham and Judy and Bob O'Conner.
He was a member of the Discalced Carmelites of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, long standing member of the Knights of Columbus, 33 years of law enforcement retired and Army veteran.
Enjoyed country life, gardening, and spending time with family and active involvement with St. Patrick's church.
A Wake Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Fredericksburg. The Funeral Mass will begin at 11:30 a.m. with Father John Ziegler officiating. Burial to follow at Laurel Hill Memorial Park, Spotsylvania.
