Donna A. Schlei, age 93, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Tuesday evening, February 4, 2020 at Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Donna was born on September 11, 1926 in the Town of Franklin, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late John E. and Elizabeth (Mullins) Doolan. Donna attended St. Patrick Parochial Grade School in Maple Grove and was a graduate of East De Pere High School, Class of 1944. On June 2, 1951 she married George J. Schlei at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Maple Grove. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1964. On December 31, 1971 she married Ralph Schuetze in Manitowoc and he preceded her in death on January 8, 1978. Donna was employed as a waitress at local supper clubs for many years and retired after 10 years of employment with Manitowoc Engineering in 1985. She was a member of Friends of St. Patrick and also bowled for the Senior League at Meadow Lanes and Vans Bar.

Survivors include her son: Kerry Schlei, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two daughters and one son-in-law: Kris and Phil Schuetze, Kim Marie Schlei; five sisters and brothers-in-law: Athlyn & Cliff O'Connell, Elizabeth & Frank Herold, Marge & George Gibeault, Rita & Joe Vogel, Lou & Allan Raether; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: John & Margaret Schlei; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Bill & Jane Schlei, Art & Cindy Schlei; and one sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Margaret "Tootie" and Elroy Maurer.

Cremation has taken place at All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, and a memorial service will be held for Donna and her daughter Kris at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 S. 14th Street, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
