It was reported that he died in 1822 in "Early Germans of New Jersey" but the source of this is unknown. This date seems a couple of years off. His youngest son Ebenezer was born in 1825 according to all records but one, so he was living then. His widow remarried Lewis Hoover and had a son c.1829. It seems likely that he died between 1825 and 1828.
He was the son of John Beam a.1754-c.1844 and Catherine Pace. He was the grandson of Bartram Behm/Beam who arrived from Germany on the ship Two Brothers in 1752.
He married Catherine Fleming of Morris Co NJ about 1809. Their children were:
* Anna 1810-1891 who married William Apgar in 1828
* George b.1812 who seems to have died young
* Elizabeth 1815-1893 who married Andrew Seals in 1838. She and her husband seem to have separated in the 1870s and were living separately in 1880.
* Catherine 1818-p.1885 who married Isaac Ader c.1842
* Ebenezer 1825-p.1880 who moved "out West" c. 1878 and is found in the 1880 Census in Bureau Co IL. He married Eliza Brown c.1870. An Ebenezer Beam was murdered in Indiana in 1889. It is not clear that this was the same man, but two of his children ended up in Indiana.
