Born Gordon Ray Windhorn he was an American professional baseball player in the Major League Baseball league in 95 games in three seasons for the New York Yankees (1959), the Los Angeles Dodgers (1961), the Kansas City Athletics (1962) and the Los Angeles Angels (1962) as an outfielder. He also played for the Hankyu Braves (1964–1969) of the Nippon Professional Baseball league in Japan. In his MLB career he had 19 hits and a batting average of .176 and played in 95 games. In the Nippon league he appeared in 641 games and had a batting average of .255.
