Noble and Mexican historic figure. She was the daughter of Hernán Cortés, the Spanish conquistador, and Isabel Moctezuma, the daughter of the last Aztec emperor. Leonor grew up in a unique cultural environment, fluent in both Spanish and Nahuatl. After being widowed 4 times, she married Juan de Tolosa an moved to Nochistlán where they had children. Leonor became known for her charitable works. After her death, as her mother who disinherited her for their complicated relationship, she left behind a legacy as a resilient and adaptable woman who navigated the complex cultural and political landscape of colonial Mexico.
