Margaret Elizabeth Duffy, 67, of 17 Balsam Ave. died yesterday at home. She was the widow of retired Navy Master Chief Commissary Steward Joseph Philip Duffy.
Born in Binghamton, N.Y., a daughter of the late Harold F. and Emily (Bell) Rand, she came to Newport with her husband from Puerto Rico in 1961. Mrs. Duffy was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Portsmouth.
She leaves four sons, Joseph P. and Robert Duffy, both of Middletown, Steven Whitman of Little Compton and Terry Duffy of Tiverton; two daughters, Patricia Duffy of Middletown and Mary D. Byrd of Seattle, Wash.; a brother, Allen Rand of Quincy, Mass.; a sister, Mildred Starr of Quincy, and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, East Main Road. Burial will be in St. Mary's Churchyard.
