AGE 72 YEARS
Milton C. "Con" Schmidt of Medfield, passed away Tues., May 10, 2022, son of the late Milton "Milt" and Marie (Petersen) Schmidt. Husband of Marguerite "Maggie" (Bechard) Schmidt of Nashua, NH; two daughters of Denver, CO; a sister and husband, of New Smyrna, FL. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles.
Conrad graduated from Needham High School and received his degree from Brown University where he was a star hockey player. Following Brown, he continued playing in the semi-professional league for two years with the Dayton Gems in Ohio and one year with the Oklahoma City Blazers in Oklahoma. Following his playing days, Con went on to coach hockey for two years as the Assistant Coach at West Point in New York, two years at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, and one year at Princeton University in New Jersey. After marrying and settling in Medfield in 1979, he became the Assistant Athletic Director at Babson College in Needham, MA for two years. Con then went on to become an independent sales representative for O'Brien and Johnson in Braintree, MA (representing Balfour), and then spent the next 35 years in the yearbook industry representing Taylor Publishing Company of Dallas, TX, covering Massachusetts until his retirement in 2017.
Arrangements: Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home, MEDFIELD.
Burial will be private in Highland Cemetery, Dover, MA.
