Teara was born on in Ennis, Texas, to Ricky and Kellie (Simmons) Stokes. She lived in the Cedar Hill area until moving to Hubbard in 1994. Teara was a 1997 graduate of Hubbard High School and also received a certificate in criminal justice from Hill College in 2004. She was a former dispatcher for the Hillsboro Police Department and also worked as a customer care supervisor for Internet America in Hillsboro. Teara was very involved in the lives of her two daughters and was active in the Hubbard PeeWee Football cheerleaders group and Girl Scouts. She had the ability to make everyone around her smile and will be greatly missed by all of her family, friends, co-workers and everyone she came in contact with.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, William Stokes; and maternal great-grandmother, Mattie Faye Tibbs Danford.
Survivors include her daughters, Kelcie Nicole Hagood and Kayla Renee Hagood, of Hubbard; mother, Kellie Dunham and husband, Scott, of Hubbard; father, Ricky Stokes, of Jacksonville, Fla.; brother, Richard Stokes and wife, Julia, of Hubbard; sisters, Jamie Kris and husband, Robert and Amber Stokes, all of Mount Calm; maternal grandmother, Bobbie Mulkey and husband, Wilburn, of Hubbard; maternal grandfather, James Simmons; aunt, Nova Cabe and husband, Howard, of Waxahachie; uncle, Mike Tibbs, of Hubbard; former husband, Craig Hagood, of Hubbard, former in-laws, Joyce Horn and husband, Mickey, of Hubbard; three nieces, four nephews; and numerous other relatives and friends.
