Carol was born on July 23, 1935 in Denmark. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Hildegard Pinger Hoffman. Carol was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1953. She was employed as a secretary at Orthopedic Associates for 14 years followed by employment as a secretary at SMS Counseling Services. On June 14, 1958 she married William C. Ballmann at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2022. Carol was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She was an avid reader, enjoyed planting flowers and music.
She is survived by three children, Lori (Brian) Schubring, Eagle River, Daniel Ballmann, San Diego, CA, and Dean (Rebecca) Ballmann, Brillion; six grandchildren, Kyle (Brittany) Shady and Jesse (Kyra) Shady, U.S. Air Force, William and Pearce Ballmann, Rachel Schubring and special friend Jackson Bryant and Adam (Ali) Schubring U.S. Navy; sister-in-law, Joanne Hoffman, Sun City West, AZ; nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Hildegard Hoffman,husband, William, daughter, Susan Marie Ballmann, and brother, Roger Hoffman.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Officiating will be Deacon Alan Boeldt. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Burial of Carol's cremated remains will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc. A luncheon will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home.
