Alvin A. Duerst passed away Friday evening, August 31, 2018, at Troy Hills Care Center following a brief illness. He was 90.
Born in New Glaros, WI, he came to NJ many years ago. He had lived in Bergen County, then Hopatcong, NJ before coming to Netcong, NJ 23 years ago.
Mr. Duerst served in the United States Air Force.
He was a chef with J.P.'s Café in Clifton for over 25 years before retiring. More recently, he had worked as a sales associate with BJ's and Sam's Club in Mount Olive.
