Brooks E. Rogers Dies; Came Here in Seventies -

Brooks E. Rogers, 82, resident of Nebraska for half a century, died at his apartments, 2801 Woolworth avenue. He was the father of William E. Rogers, former mayor of Florence, and Mrs. E. R. Lewis and Mrs. Carlos Rayborne of Kansas City, Kas.

Mr. Rogers drove overland to Madison county from Springfield, Ill., in 1870 and outside of a few of his late years spent in California, had made his home in Nebraska since that time. He traded from Columbus to Norfolk in the early days. He was a member of Beacon, No. 20, Odd Fellows, the Modern Woodmen at Los Angeles, and a G.A.R. veteran

Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at the undertaking parlors of Brailey & Dorrance.
