Queen Consort of Hungary and Croatia. Born in 1449 to George of Proděbrady and his first wife, Kunigunde of Sternberg. She was the twin sister of Sidonie of Proděbrady, who married Albert III of Saxony. Kunigunde died after both Catherine and Sidonie were born, from complications from childbirth. She was the second wife of Matthias Corvinus, King of Hungary and Croatia, whom she married on 1 May 1461. She died in childbirth on 8 March 1464. Her widow Matthias married Beatrice of Naples in 1476.

Gravesite Details

Catherine's grave was lost when the Basilica's walls were torn down after 1767. A plaque remains near her burial site.She was presumably buried near Anne of Foix-Candale.
