Graveside services for Frances Eugenia "Gene" Tipton, 92, of Longview, will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2008, at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Wayne Welborn officiating. Mrs. Tipton passed away Sunday, December 30, 2007, at her home.

Gene was born September 24, 1915, in Garden Valley, Texas, to Frances Jackson and Eugene Bailey Tunnell, and was reared in Tyler. She and Mr. Tipton moved to Longview in 1936. Gene was a wonderful mother and homemaker.

Mrs. Tipton was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Harvey W. Tipton Sr.; and son, Harvey W. "Bill" Tipton Jr.

She is survived by a daughter, Frances "Sissy" Tipton of Houston; granddaughter, Brandy Ford of Kilgore; two great-grandchildren, Jed Dean and Laci Ford, also of Kilgore; special friend and companion, Deanna Williams; and very special friend, Sarah Bennett; as well as a multitude of good friends and neighbors.

All services are under the direction of Lakeview Funeral Home.
