Donald H. Chermak, age 78, of New Holstein, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton.
Don was born on October 18, 1943 in Manitowoc, son of the late Alvin and Kathryn (MacKenzie) Chermak. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School, class of 1962. Don furthered his education at UW – Oshkosh, where he played football and then went on to graduate school at UW – Superior. Don was an instructor of Psychology at Lakeshore Technical College for over 30 years until his retirement. Don married Sarah Pelkey in 1990, and even though the couple separated, they remained friends and have a beautiful family together. Don was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying his cabin up north, his family's cabin at Cedar Lake, hunting, fishing, kayaking, and spending time with friends and family. He also enjoyed all sports, especially the Packers.
Don is survived by his children and their spouses: Adam (Kim) Graf of Stephenson, MI, Sam (Shawn) Olson of Brillion, Doug Graf of Appleton, and Macklin (Lacey Brown) of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren: Abbey, Caleb, Emma, Willow, Alex, McKayla, Riley, Taylor, Landon, and Daisy; one brother and sister-in-law: Jim (Betty) Chermak of Waukesha; and special cousin and friend, Al (Carol) Chermak of Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and other relatives.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, June 6, 2022 at Pielhop Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion, 215 S. Main Street. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the Celebration.
