Arne William Barslund (Also known as Bill, Uncle Bill & Daddy Bill) Born January 13, 1935 in Montrose, Colorado passed peacefully at his son Todd's home on November 1, 2021 at age 86. He had been looking forward to joining his bride of almost 60 years who passed away on Christmas eve in 2019. He grew up on farms in different parts of western Colorado, spending most of his teen years in Palisade, he attended Palisade High School. Bill served in the US Army and Army Reserves from 1958 to 1965. In the late 1960's he was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. After trying his hand at several different jobs, he applied his creative skills to a career as an HVAC technician, owning his own business for several years in Castle Rock and Grand Junction and finishing his working career as an equipment engineer with Interstate Brands Bakery in Grand Junction. Bill had a creative spirit and enjoyed woodworking - building rocking horses, toys and many other fun items. He was very creative and enjoyed creating many different types of art projects. A great handyman, he enjoyed "fixing" things and could repair or rebuild just about anything. A member of the Church of Christ since 1960, he was very involved with his church family and friends. He spent his last few months in good spirits, telling stories of the past, visiting with friends & family and enjoying food he had not been allowed to eat for 17 years due his diabetes and heart condition. He touched MANY lives in MANY ways over the years and has left a legacy that will not be forgotten, he will be missed by many. He married the love of his life Evelyn "Sissie" Mae Butts on October 2, 1960, she predeceased him December 24, 2019. The youngest of 5 Children, he is also predeceased by his siblings Kristian, Egon, Asta & Louie, as well as his parents William and Anna Barslund. Bill is survived by his children Tammy Mae Barslund, Todd Arne Barslund and his wife Kimberly, grandson Brent Owen Barslund and wife Lindsey and great grandson Declan. He also considered his children - Sister-in-law Charlotte Ann Bowhay and her children Eric Allen & Della Leigh (earning him the nickname "Daddy Bill") Surviving extended family include many nieces, nephews and their families - Allen Criim, Karen Ann Sutton, Mark Barslund, Debbie Barslund, Brian Barslund. He touched MANY lives in MANY ways over the years and has left a legacy that will not be forgotten, he will be missed by so many. Memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.

A memorial service celebrating Bill's life was held at the Patterson Road Church of Christ, Grand Junction, on Saturday, June 11.
