Clara O. Fossey Thompson was born in Mitchell County, near Otranto, August
26, 1883, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton and Olivia Fossey.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Mona Lutheran church by Rev. Eggen and
received her education in Pleasant Prairie rural school in Otranto township.

She was married to Henry Thompson of St. Ansgar in 1905. They farmed near
Toeterville for about 10 years, then moved to Milach, Minn., in 1915 where
they resided until the death of her husband in 1936.

She is survived by two sons, the Rev. Morris Thompson, Berthold N. D. and
Dr. Anton of Long Beach; and three grandchildren, Paul of Berthold, Nancy
of Portland and Linda of Long Beach.

Also one sister Mrs. Gilbert (Hannah) Martin of Austin; and five brothers,
Otto of St. Ansgar; Charlie of Austin; Eddie, George and Mense of Lyle.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister, Mrs. Melvin (Eva)
Martin and one brother, Alf Fossey of Otranto.

Funeral services were held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lyle with
the Rev. Merland Johnson officiating and interment was in Pleasant Hill
cemetery at Mona.

Casket bearers were six nephews Oliver, Dean, Harold, Allen, Jerry and
Darwin Fossey.

Attending the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. George Moen and Mr.
and Mrs. Glen Martin of Minneapolis; Mrs. Grace McGrath , Eau Claire Wis.
Mrs. Donald Fossey, Watertown, S. D. Rev. and Mrs. Morris Thompson, Berthold
N.D., Dr. and Mrs. Anton Thompson, and Mrs. Olga Sundt, Long Beach Calif. and
the rest came from Northwood, St. Ansgar and Toeterville.
