In 1973 Jane was married to Robert Marotz. At the age of 50 she realized her childhood dream and graduated from LTC with an associate degree in nursing. Jane was employed for 6 years as an RN at Northridge Care Center, and for 15 years at Shady Lane Nursing Home, retiring in 1999. Jane and Robert were very active in Lakeshore Marriage Encounter, and were a focus couple at Holy Innocents Catholic Church.
Jane enjoyed playing cards, weaving at the Manitowoc Senior Center, gardening, and mostly volunteering. She was a Girl Scout Leader, a member of Big Brothers and Big Sisters, tutored at Ben Franklin School, volunteered in the mail room at Holy Family Hospital, was a Hospice Volunteer, a Eucharistic Minister and active in Relay for Life.
Jane is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Cynthia "Cindy" and John Gallenberger, Manitowoc, Annette and Robert Ryder, Las Vegas, Nevada; two step-children: Kim Marotz and Rodney Marotz; four grandchildren: Rick and Kim Gallenberger, Manitowoc, Brenda and Kent Buergi, Green Bay, John and Kristen Hagenow, Waterford, and Jennifer Hagenow, Seattle, Washington; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; one brother and sister-in-law: Jim and Pat Korlesky, Carpentersville, Illinois, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Apolonary and Marie Petrosky Korlesky Meyer; her husbands: Harold Hagenow and Robert Marotz; and one son: John Hagenow Sr.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall, 1114 South 21st Street, in Manitowoc. Pastor Doug LeCaptain will officiate at the service. The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass at 11:00 AM. There will be no Monday evening visitation. A luncheon will be held after Mass on Tuesday at the All-Care Reception Center, 925 South 14th, Street, Manitowoc. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Hospital or Roncalli Catholic School System. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting www.lakeshorefamilyfuneralhomes.com The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
Jane's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the loving and compassionate caregivers at Whitetail Estates. They were her angels on earth. Also, to Home Health Care and Hospice who were so kind, and always there for her the past years.
