She was longtime owner of Peaches Restaurant which was located in Jackson's downtown Farish Street Historic District at 327 North Farish Street. The Soul Food restaurant was a fixture in this location for more than fifty years, and was frequented by many locals, and enjoyed visits from President Barack Obama, Dr. Martin L. King, Jr., Muhammad Ali, B.B. King, and many other distinguished individuals.
