Mr. Richard James "Dick" Flynn, age 95, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2022 after a short illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 60 years Geraldine "Jerrie" (Granger) and siblings Geraldine (Flynn) Persons, twin brother Raymond Thomas Flynn, and Danny G. Flynn.

Survivors include son Brian Michael Flynn, daughters Roberta Ann "Robin" (Jay Danny) France, and Maureen (Al) Doran, granddaughter Ela (Matt) McAllister, great grandchildren Kelton, Phoenix, and Ronin McAllister.

Dick was born on February 12, 1927 to James Raymond and Marie (Langanki) Flynn in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At the age of 18, he and his twin enlisted in the Navy. Dick served as a radioman during WWII and again in Guam during the Korean War. After his second discharge in 1952 he returned home to marry Jerrie in November of 1952. The couple resided in Minnesota and Massachusetts during their marriage.

A lifelong love of numbers and a degree in Business Administration from the University of MN led him to work in finance over 59 years until he retired for the third time at age 85. After losing his wife, he moved from Massachusetts to Georgia to reside with daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Danny France. When his eyesight failed, Dick moved to Manor Lake Assisted Living in Athens.

Dick was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings, the New England Patriots, and his favorite quarterback, Tom Brady. Hobbies included traveling, eating apple pie, and collecting rings and watches.

A visitation was held Thursday, May 26 at White's Funeral Home, followed by a committal ceremony and burial at St. Michael's Cemetery in Farmington, Minnesota.
