Daughter of Lucius Vigilius Hubbard 1803-1849 and Mary Ridgway Peacock Hubbard 1821-1844. Her father sold real estate and her mother died just over two weeks after Mary was born. In 1848 Lucius married Annie Elizabeth Lee (1826-1913) in Cincinnati.

Married Dr. Jonathan L. Cilley on 26 Apr 1869 in Kenton, Kentucky and they had four children, Mabel, Raymond, Morgan and Lucia. Dr. Cilley was a professor of anatomy at the Ohio Medical College. The family lived in Cincinnati, Ohio after their marriage and were there through at least 1900.

After her husband died in 1903 in Brooklyn, Mary lived with her daughters. In 1909 - 1910 they were living in Puerto Rico. By 1920, Mary, age 75, is living in Brooklyn with daughter Mabel 40 and Lucia 38 and Lucia's family, George Pettit 40, and children Helen 5 and George 1. Mary's obituary in the Tampa Tribune in 1927 indicates she had been living in St. Petersburg with her daughters for several years before she passed away.
