Thomas Jefferson Rigsby was born on June 11, 1909 in Boaz, Marshall County, Alabama, the son of Andrew Thomas "Andy" Rigsby (1884–1944) and {his 1st wife?} Zona B (Smith) Rigsby (1889–1915).

He was married 1st on March 19, 1934 in Indiana to Martha Lee Nafus, and he was married 2nd on February 19, 1939 to Helen "Christine" Holzapfel (1914–2018), the daughter of John Jacob "Jake" Holzapfel Jr (1877–1964) and his 1st wife Alma Antone "Tennie" (Bargatze) Holzapfel (1879–1952).

In Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee since about 1930, Thomas was a member of Bible Center Church in Madison and a retired produce manager for Belle Meade's H G Hill Store. Living at 416 Avondale Drive, he was 71 years old and married when he passed away on December 24, 1980 at Saint Thomas Hospital.

Survivors included his widow Helen Christine Rigsby, sons John Thomas "J T" Rigsby in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, Herman Wesley Rigsby of Pleasant Shade, Tennessee, Aubrey Leslie Rigsby at Franklin, Kentucky and Carl Michael Rigsby in Lebanon, Tennessee, daughters Mrs Joyce Anne Hartley of Donelson, Tennessee and Mrs Carolyn Michele Mac Williams at Nashville and fourteen grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held on December 26th at Woodlawn Funeral Home, and burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Nashville.
